This study aims to analyze the effect of the physical work environment on the performance of lathe operators at CV Sinar Surya Palembang. The physical work environment that is the focus of the research includes temperature, lighting, and noise. The method used was direct observation and questionnaire filling by 13 employees. The results showed that the average lighting was 63.5 lux, the temperature reached 32°C, and the noise was at a level of 74 dB. Linear regression analysis showed that the physical work environment had no significant effect on operator performance, with an R² value of 0.7%. This conclusion indicates that although physical environmental conditions are outside the ideal standard, these factors do not directly affect performance. Therefore, it is recommended that companies increase lighting, improve ventilation to reduce temperature, and provide personal protective equipment to reduce the impact of noise. This study provides important insights into the importance of an optimal work environment to support employee performance in the machining service industry.
